Housing is the foundation of a stable life, yet millions are rent-burdened or homeless. That is unacceptable.
The Sacks Agenda
- Repeal the Faircloth Amendment to allow the federal government to build new public housing for the first time in decades.
- Pass the Green New Deal for Public Housing Act to retrofit public housing units, making them safe, energy-efficient, and comfortable.
- Implement a National Tenants Bill of Rights, including universal rent control and 'Just Cause' eviction protections.
- Fully fund Section 8 vouchers to eliminate waitlists and make them an entitlement like SNAP.
- Ban corporate landlords and private equity firms from buying up single-family homes.
